My career began as an early childhood teacher. After spending a time as an Education Consultant, I developed a keen interest in instructional technology and online learning. In 2000, I shifted my focus and began my career in higher education. I have been fortunate to hold several positions, including Graduate Program Director, Department Chair, Dean and Associate Professor with tenure. My love of distance learning and online education continued.
At the Community College of Education, I designed and taught the first online courses offered in the Education program. At Seton Hill University, we developed several online courses and programs. My interest in online education turned into the development of the Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instructional Design with a focus on delivering instruction and training virtually. In 2019, I was offered an opportunity to fully focus on Distance Learning. At WVNET, I manage the Distance Learning Program which hosts the Learning Management Systems for 13 colleges in the state. We provide technical support as well as training and faculty support. My latest initiative is the development of a statewide Teaching and Learning Commons. I am responsible for designing curriculum, facilitating workshops, and marketing our services. My team and I kicked off the new TLC by holding a Professional Development Week. We received over 1,500 registrations for 34 different sessions. I am also the Lead Statewide Coordinator for Quality Matters. I am thrilled to continue learning and growing in the field of online learning. My passion for education lies in professional development and faculty training. I offer consulting and training services for K12 schools as well as colleges and universities throughout the tri-state region. I have developed numerous online webinars as well. Contact me if I can support your professional development initiatives. |
